Malaysian man flashes in a bizarre attempt to ‘pay’ for coffee

Fig leaf

Now here’s a different, if slightly illegal and not to mention a very strange way of attempting to pay for a cup of coffee.

What would you do if you’re about to purchase something, only to find that you’ve left your wallet at home and you don’t have enough change in your pockets?

Well you probably wouldn’t do what one Malaysian man did.

According to Malaysia’s The Star, a man flashed the owner of a coffee shop in a bizarre attempt at a non-cash payment.

The incident took place in a Kamung Air Pasir coffee shop early last Saturday morning and, unsurprisingly, it appears that the man behind the act has been detained by the local constabulary after it was reported to the nearby Machap Baru police station.

It transpires that the man, a 38-year-old, casually unzipped his trousers and “placed” his genitals on a table after order a cup of coffee. Panicking, the shop-owner fled to raise attention and sought help from her son who just so happened lived next door.

Upon their return, the man in question was casually sat at his table drinking his cup of joe with his pants still unzipped, but with a shirt acting as an impromptu fig leaf.

The victim, whose name has not been released to the press or public, has described the entire somewhat bemusing incident. The 47-year-old said:

“[The perpetrator] was chatty and asked how I was coping with the increasing price of goods. I spoke to him in the normal way and then moved to the back portion for the stall to brew the coffee.

So far, so normal. But that’s when things took a strange turn.

“As I was about to place the drink and collect payment,” she continues, “the man suddenly flashed his private parts right on the table. I was afraid he would sexually assault me and I dashed out.”

When the proprietor returned with her son it is reported that a scuffle broke out and during the melee the trouser-less male, reportedly, admitted to having no money for the coffee and believed that he thought that “flashing his private parts would ‘pay’ for the drink.”

Luckily, the incident can be described as being relatively harmless, but it could have been much, much worse.

It goes without saying that nobody ever should think about attempting to ‘pay’ for anything in this manner.
