Keurig recall Mini Plus Brewing Systems

Coffee machine manufacturer Keurig has sent out a recall notice for over seven million single serve units that have been sold in the United States and Canada over the past five years.
This move has come after reports emerged that a number of users suffered burns and other injuries from malfunctioning Mini Plus brewers.
Officially, Keurig have said that all Mini Plus Brewing Systems – with the model number K10 – can overheat and spray water during the brewing process.
The recalled models all have an identification/serial number beginning in ‘31’.
They admit that they have received some 200 independent notices of hot water escaping from the unit, with 90 of those containing references to burn-related injuries.
Consumers are urged to call Keurig directly on 1-844-255-7886, or, alternatively, check on the company’s official website to receive instructions on certain precautions to take and enquire about a free repair kit.
“In the meantime, you can continue to use your brewer,” a statement on their website says.
“We recommend you avoid brewing more than two cups in rapid succession and maintain an arm’s length distance from the brewer during the brewing process.”
Keurig has announced that they are working with Health Canada and the United States consumer protection agency.
