It seems to be a quiet sort of world domination – coffee is seducing all sorts of people, nationalities and cultures to its delicious ways.

One such area which has recently been in the news for its blossoming relationship with coffee is an unexpected country: Saudi Arabia.

According to reports, there has been a huge investment into the restaurant and coffee shop sectors of the country.

It is said that local investors and also businessmen have injected some SR11 billion and this segment of the market is growing at a yearly rate of about 18%.

Philippine coffee production is getting more attention

There is good news in the headlines for Philippine coffee at the moment.

It appears that the coffee drinkers of the world are developing something of a taste for the stuff.

According to reports, however, it is more a case of the Philippines keeping up with the increasing demands for their particular blend of the caffeine elixir.

In November 2011, the Philippine Coffee Investors’ Forum was held in Davao City and on the agenda was the issue of how to boost the national coffee industry and introduce new technologies, to encourage the rise and rise of the Philippine coffee bean.

It has been said that Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, but whether or not this is the case, there are certainly strong links between the African country and the coffee bean.

There have been news headlines recently to the effect that the quantity of coffee that is being produced in Ethiopia is on the increase and the level of output is surpassing expectations.

It has also been said that because of this increase, the International Coffee Organisation has upped its estimate of the global output for 2011-2012.

According to reports, Ethiopia has an output of around 9.8 million bags of coffee.

You are what you eat (or drink) is an old maxim and is behind much of the research that has ever been carried out.

There are scientists who try to work out the effects of certain ingredients on our health. And coffee is one of them.

Apparently, according to a recent research project, coffee consumption may contribute towards a lowered risk of contracting type 2 diabetes.

To be effective in this way, it is said that moderate consumption helps you out, by which the researchers mean around four or five cups of joe each day.
