In developing countries, campaigns to help the producers of coffee often reap rewards which spread far beyond simply increasing output.
For instance, under the Fair Trade scheme and also with the Rainforest Alliance movement, the improved income has a positive knock on effect on communities and their families too.

The Scottish coffee company, Caber Coffee, has been in the news recently as they have recently launched a range of Fairtrade beverages, including of course, coffee.
The family run business specialises in distributing beverage ingredients and equipment to other businesses in Scotland and has been doing so since 1988.
As reported in the Grocer, the new Ethyco range, has the tagline ‘Coffee with conscience’ and as part of the ethical initiative, 2% of sales are to be contributed to social projects in the United Kingdom. In a world that is increasingly conscious of environmental and ethical issues, this is surely good news to the conscientious consumer.
