Although the coffee industry is one of the most significant global industries, it is subject to certain factors that do not affect other industries without such a direct dependency on nature for the production of the goods.

Coffee, of course, comes from coffee plants and once we engage with the natural world, there are all sorts of things to be taken into account   the vulnerability of the plant species, the tending and nurturing of crops in the most effective way and, of course, adverse factors such as the weather and so on.

Is coffee a turn on?

According to a recent study by De’Longhi, the coffee machine maker, the smell of coffee is significant in terms of attraction and romance.

Scent is renowned as being something of a seductive sense.

Perfume and aftershave are all part of the ritual of mating and grooming.

There is so much literature about the different seductive smells   vanilla, ylang ylang, spicee – but coffee is also up there on the list of smells which attract.

As reported in Female First, the study assessed the arousal levels in single women (aged between 18 and 57) when smelling particular aromas and observing pictures of men.

Heart rate and skin conductance were measured.

What was the top smell to arouse the women the most?

Unsurprisingly, aftershave came top of the pops.
