Italian and African collaboration for coffee

There was an interesting article in All Africa recently, regarding an Italian company which is trying its luck with coffee production in Africa.
Both Italy and Africa have a close relationship with the caffeine elixir African (Ethiopia to be precise) is said to be the birthplace of coffee, as a goatherd noticed the effect of coffee bean consumption on his flock and Italy’s traditional menu of daily drinks includes coffee.
So what’s going on with the new plan?
Euro Techno Group is an Italian organisation, which is planning on investing in the country of Uganda.
This is a venture with Palombini, one of the big Italian coffee roasters.
What is the deal?
They intend to invest some 20 million euros in a factory to process coffee in the country.
As Uganda is a significant producer of coffee, this seems to be an appropriate collaboration between product and processing capacity and knowhow.
According to reports, the Prime Minister of the African country recently visited Italy, with a view to consider the business candidates to export the possibilities in the national coffee industry.
What is the likely output, if all goes to plan?
How much difference will this potential Italian involvement in the local coffee industry make?
It is said that the new factory has a considerable expected output of some 100,000 tonnes of coffee on a daily basis ready for export.
