Strange things to do with coffee

coffee grounds

Okay, so most of us drink our morning cup of coffee, right?

It’s one of the little treats that many of us enjoy to kick start our day.

However, coffee is a giant global industry and, as well as drinking the stuff, people have thought up all sorts of unusual supplementary uses for it.

Here are just a few:

1. The beauty industry makes millions each year in helping women to keep youthful and healthy looks. However, have you heard about the beauty treatment using coffee grounds? Some say that rubbing these grounds into thighs will combat cellulite.

2. What about mulch? Do you mulch your plants? How about using coffee grounds as a sort of fertiliser for your plants by mulching it in the soil. Many gardeners swear by it and some coffee shops will give away their grounds for this use.

3. Painting. Not an obvious answer, it is? But painters have been in the news for using coffee as a new medium for their art. That’s not the only artistic use for coffee either. One sculptor has managed to do carvings in coffee beans, so small that you can hardly see the intricate work.

4. Weight loss. Some say that green unroasted coffee can help to reduce weight. As such, there are green coffee supplements on the market to aid weight reduction. In addition, drinking caffeine before a work out is said to help you to make the most of your exercise.

Alternatively, of course, you can just drink the stuff. Simple, is sometimes best.
