Butter and coffee: a new trend

There have been several food pairings with coffee; just think of that traditional mix, coffee and walnut cake, or coffee and chocolate and so on.
However, there is a new trend which has been observed in the coffee industry headlines of late which investigates the relationship between coffee and butter.
Yes, that’s right: coffee and butter.
This coffee is said to have a range of benefits to the drinker.
The brand is called Bulletproof Coffee and the man behind this is David Asprey.
The brand has a caffeine kick which beats your normal cup of coffee to boost the energy of the drinker.
In addition, it is said to aid in fat burning.
So how does this work?
The added butter in the coffee is said to make the drinker feel full which is why it is believed to help with weight loss.
Of course, this should be balanced with the fact that the drinker is also consuming the additional calories of the butter.
Asprey is also quoted as reporting that his butter coffee can ‘supercharge’ brain functions as well.
Fancy trying out whether these claims are correct?
You can always try the Bulletproof Coffee brand to find out.
There have been other claims that coffee can help with weight loss in the recent past; this time it is the green unroasted coffee that is marketed as helping those who want to reduce their weight.
Of course, coffee is also rather delicious to drink on its own, roasted in the usual way.
As the healthy global coffee industry will testify.

The butter must be: * From grass-fed (and not grain-fed) cows to ensure a healthy saturated fatty acid profile. * Unsalted butter (because salted would be gross!) The butter in combination with the MCT oil gives you energy and keeps you satiated. It helps you enter a state of ketosis (fat burning mode) Because you're not hungry and looking for your next meal and because your brain is being fuelled on ketones, your mental performance / ability to get things done increases. That's how it works.
