Tea or Coffee Or Can You Love Both?

coffee and tea

Cats and dogs. Tea and coffee.

People seem to have a soft spot for either one or the other, don’t they?

Presumably, if you’re reading this article, you are in the coffee camp.

But here is a question (raised by an interesting recent article in the Henley Standard): can you be both a tea and a coffee lover?

Why pose the question?

Lorraine Hillier has run the Hot Gossip coffee house in Friday Street in Henley for six years and is now looking to expand her presence in the little town.

However, rather than opening a new coffee outlet and spreading the Hot Gossip brand, Hillier has opted to open a tea shop instead.

She will be opening Upstairs Downstairs in Askew Art in Duke Street and is planning to sell around 45 different sorts of tea.

Which will be more profitable and popular, her tea or her coffee establishment?

It has been noted by many that various traditionally tea-drinking countries have a developing taste for the caffeine elixir.

It would seem that this trend is often led by the younger generation, who are seduced by the coffee culture.

It also often takes place in urban areas. India and China, once famed for their love of tea, are now becoming increasingly interested in coffee.

Which do you prefer?

Do you think that we can have an equal love of both drinks?

Or do you think that coffee, in the end, wins the day?
