We often report on the growing number of coffee festivals that are springing up all over the globe.

Coffee is now the worlds second most traded commodity after oil and these events are truly a testament to the global nature of the coffee market and the increasing enthusiasm for the caffeine elixir.

As noted in the Times of India, Chandigarh will be hosting a coffee festival this month.

The festival will coincide with the celebrations for World Tourism week (which takes place from 27-30 September).

The celebrations are to kick off in CITCO hotels on 27th September.

The coffee element of the festival will be held at Hotel Shivalikview and Hotel Mountview and their chefs have worked with coffee connoisseurs to create a special coffee inspired and enthused menu.

Two of the countries which are prominent in their partnering of the coffee element of the celebrations are Ethiopia (reported to be the birthplace of coffee) and Turkey.

Coffee from both these countries will be available at the event, along with many other blends.

It will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about coffee and the industry, try some coffee samples and network with others in the business.

Even if you do not happen to be in the vicinity to attend the coffee festival, all is not lost.

There are an increasing number of coffee festivals springing up all over the place.
