An Israeli designer knows how to turn heads

Christmas may have come and gone, presents given and received, but if you are still searching for an extra-special gift this New Year, why not get that coffee loving woman in your life a pair of coffee inspired shoes?

Kobi Levi, the creator of the coffee inspired footwear, graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, in Jerusalem, in 2001 and has come a long way in the fashion industry after his first pair of shoes were made from cardboard boxes.

In his career so far he has challenged the definition of design, art and fashion. His ideas have formed their own niche in the world.

The coffee pot-styled shoes (pictured above) look, well, like any regular coffee pot; angled, spilling the black liquid to form the stiletto heel, leaving a little pool of coffee at the point.

The Kobi Levi Coffee shoes are also available in white-coloured leather where the coffee is ‘poured’ from a porcelain vase instead of the standard container.

If the design itself was not impressive of eye-catching enough, Kobi Levi’s products are all hand-made from high-quality materials.

Not only the heights of avant-garde fashion, the shoes are wearable works of art which, in the artists own words, ‘capture and frame a single moment to create an unique shape and the illusion of movement.’

Since uploading his creations to a blog in April 2010, Levi’s designs have rocketed around the world with Lady Gaga wearing his ‘Double Boot’ in the music video for her single Born This Way.
