Coffee Can Help You Live Longer

Hallelujah!

Drinking a moderate amount of coffee could reduce your risk of dying from heart disease and other illnesses, a report published in the journal Circulation claims.

Now this isn’t anything new. We’ve known that coffee is some kind of miracle elixir for a while now. Previous studies have shown that coffee can reduce the risk of skin cancer and Alzheimer’s

And it also contains a Morphine-like protein.

Coffee is so good that the United States’ Dietary Advisory Committee published a report which outlined its potential benefits.

It seems the only thing coffee can’t do is help you lose weight

But what sets this study apart is its size.

The research team involved with it looked at three ongoing studies which had collectively gathered data from around 200,000 people. Some of the individuals had been submitting data and dietary habits for thirty years.

Once those who had identified themselves as smokers had been filtered out of the results, the scientists found time and time again that those who drank coffee were less likely to die earlier than those who did not.

“Bioactive compounds in coffee reduce insulin resistance and systematic inflammation,” said Ming Ding, the study’s lead author and current Harvard Ph.D. student.

“They might be responsible for the inverse association between coffee and mortality,” he added.

Commenting on the study, Frank Hu, a well-respect professor and lecturer at Harvard, said: “This study provides further evidence that moderate consumption of coffee may confer health benefits in terms of reducing premature death.”
