Preparations for World’s Biggest Coffee Morning are underway

Even though it is still a little while in the future, many supporters are gearing up and making preparations for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
This is an event which is held annually, to help provide funds for the excellent Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
Coffee mornings will be held across the length and breadth of the country on 28 September.
What plans are afoot for the event?
In Meadowhall in Sheffield, one student is organising to raise funds by sitting in a bath of coffee beans.
Lauren King is a student in the area and the charity is close to her heart, as she lost her own grandmother to the disease.
She wants to promote the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise funds for the cancer charity.
In South Yorkshire, Macmillan hope to raise more than £150,000 and the team is encouraging a thousand people to organise an event.
In Carrick, Alderman Billy Ashe is helping to launch a coffee morning on the date of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Northern Ireland has done splendidly in the past, raising some £226,000 in 2011 towards the good cause and those in the area are looking to make a big difference again this year.
