Smelly feet and coffee solutions

feet

This is the time of year that we have to be super careful with our feet.

Whiffy tootsies are not attractive and with temperatures rising, footcare becomes more important.

What can we do when we have to wear socks during the sticky summer season?

There has been a surprising article in Gizmag online recently, which has revealed a coffee-related product that has been designed to help out in these circumstances.

What is it?

Ministry of Supply have come up with a special type of sock, which relies in part on coffee and is designed to help to keep feet cool.

What is the sock called?

Atlas.

What does it do?

It can filter and absorb sweat produced by the feet and also the odour, which enables us to keep feet comfortably cool.

What has coffee got to do with this product?

The sock is made up of a mix of materials including recycled polyester, cotton and also carbonised coffee.

Yes, that’s right.

Carbonised coffee.

It is an ingredient which is said to attract molecules by its structure and this can help to trap carbon and deal with odour.

According to reports, this coffee trap is three times more effective at the job than cotton.

There is more good news about the use of coffee in these socks: they can be ‘reclaimed’ from coffee shops and are effectively recycled in a way.

A process is used to trip out the oil and smell from coffee and it is then added to the recycled polyester yarns.
