You don’t have to look too hard these days, to find some doom and gloom story about cut backs, job losses and salary freezes.

However, there was some good news in the Charleston Regional Business Journal recently – Lollicup USA will be opening up a new facility in Dorchestor County and this will boost job opportunities.

It is expected that the new facility will create 40 new positions.

The company who is investing in Dorchester County is a coffee and tea distributor and also the manufacturer of Karat products, plus other disposable goods.

The new facility will be for distribution purposes and is designed to satisfy some of its shipping needs.

Dorchester County is a good spot for the new facility because of to its proximity to the Interstate 26 and also the Port of Charleston.

It is hoped that the new operations will kick off in July this year.

The facility is 63,000 square feet and is based in Summerville.

This location also provides access to the company’s key markets and also to a top notch deep-water port.

Let’s hope that more companies choose to expand and maintain their confidence in markets, so that we can fight the economic gloom.
