Sir Chris Hoy and coffee

As the world and his wife sit glued to their Olympic-filled TV screens, we are all becoming rather sport-obsessed.
One of the champions of Team Great Britain is Sir Chris Hoy and his expert cycling in London this year.
He is Britain’s most successful Olympian and is collecting gold medals like nobody’s business.
However, the Daily Record have published a story recently which shows a link between Hoy and the caffeine elixir.
Apparently he has brought his very own coffee machine together with the coffee bean grinder down to the Olympics to make sure that he drinks just the right beverage for success in sport.
Sounds a little over the top?
Perhaps, but it is said that the only time that Hoy did not have his trusty coffee machine with him, he had ‘mixed fortunes’ (and this was at the World Championships in Melbourne).
Many sports people have particular rituals before they perform their sport but there is a logical reason that Hoy chooses to sip on coffee.
He studied applied sports science at Edinburgh and it is said by many experts that coffee is a good stimulant for the muscles and also the mind before performing.
