Unusual things to do with coffee

Of course, most of us are rather partial to our cup of coffee and some of us go to quite some lengths to make sure that the coffee we drink is just right and of high quality.
There are all sorts of coffee gadgets out there to make a coffee-drinking experience one to savour.
However, there are other less conventional uses for coffee.
You can read in this article about two little-known uses of coffee… read on.
First, a domestic use that might come in handy.
Most of us have heard the old adage about either brewing freshly ground coffee or baking bread, to make your home smell enticing when potential purchasers are viewing your house, haven’t we?
As noted in the Globe and Mail, the attractive scent of coffee has been employed around the house in other ways too.
It has been reported that coffee beans and grounds can be used in a fridge, to make it smell more fresh.
In addition, if you have `cook’s hands,’ smelling of strong foods, such as garlic or fish, why not rub some coffee beans onto your hands and then wash off?
Apparently it works a treat!
Secondly, a commercial use that may also come in handy.
Research has been carried out recently to try to use some of the wasted food which is slung into landfills all over the world.
Several stories are emerging of a rather interesting idea for a bio-refinery, which is designed to turn this waste into useful ingredients.
What sort of ingredients?
A substance which will make plastics, detergents and other products that are used every day.
A good idea, no?
