Did you know that the World Trade Market is taking place in London this year?
It will run from 5 November (that’s Bonfire Night for the Brits) until 8 November at the Excel Exhibition Centre.
The World Trade Market is the second largest exhibition, but this year there will be something of a coffee treat.
As reported in the New Straits Times, the hospitality industry from Langkawi has decided on a rather novel way of promoting the area.
Amada Zulkifli, aged 42, has been engaged by the Langkawi Development Agency for a rather unusual skill.
What is it?
Zulkifli will be coffee painting!
She is a local artist in the area who also has a Business and Banking Studies degree.
She will be taking along some 50 pieces of her work to show different sizes and for the exhibition.
She is also something of a coffee-lover.
As well as painting with leftover coffee grounds, she also has her own coffee shop called Amanda Coffee at Pekan Rabu in Kuah.
Painting was apparently something of a passion of Zulkifli’s from an early age and she took part in painting competitions as a child.
Since she started painting with coffee residue, she has been remarkably successful, especially as she did not go to art school.
Zulkifli has sold some 200 coffee paintings since she began this art form a couple of years ago.
Her clients tend to be those who visit Langkawi as collectors or tourists.
If you are in London in early November and are intrigued by this unusual form of art, why not pop in and see them for yourself.
