The world, it seems, has a growing appetite for coffee.
There have been many stories of the success in coffee shops of riding out the economic downturn, in some cases even flourishing in spite of it.
As you walk along many of the high streets around England, for instance, there are growing numbers of coffee shops to be found.
This applies to the old Roman town of Lincoln too.
One of the stories to hit the local news recently is the new coffee flavours that are arriving in the city shortly.
So what’s the plan?
A new cafe is to open soon and its name is New York.
It is to be an upmarket coffee shop which is to bring some Americana to the Lincoln high street.
The idea is that it will have something of a dual identity providing coffee shop type snacks and beverages by day, turning into a wine bar by night (the watershed being sometime around 8 o’clock).
This is good news for the local community in more ways than one.
As well as providing a new eatery and watering hole in the city centre, the New York venture is also expected to created some 10 new jobs.
