Dog-lovers unite in coffee shop

Many of us love our animals, don’t we?

And yet there can be something of a problem when working out whether or not dogs would be welcome when we travel around, drop by in pubs and restaurants.

Have you ever heard of the Rosie Award?

It is an award that is issued to cafes which are dog-friendly and so if you check out the awarded venues in your desired locality, you are on the way to finding somewhere dog-friendly to visit.

One such caff has been in the news recently (Horncastle News).

Which cafe?

The Old Stables in Horncastle, England.

And why was it in the news?

A coffee morning was organised there to help a dog trust, the Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

In addition to raising funds for the charity (£105), the caff donated 10% of their takings to the rescue too.

There was a little doggie-fun going on too   dog-owners were invited to bring their pets along in fancy dress.

This will hopefully not be the only event for the Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

They are hoping to encourage animal lovers to host their own coffee morning (or afternoon tea party) during May, to raise funds for the canines in their care.

Do you fancy having a go at helping our dogs in need in this way?
