Cat coffee shops

We have reported before on the relationship between cats and coffee.
And this affinity seems to be taking the world by storm.
Again, there have been stories in the online press (Nation Multimedia) to report the use of cat cafes and this time in Munich in Germany.
Originally believed to be a Japanese idea, cafe owners began to offer cat lovers a special place to hang out with some feline friends.
For those who are unable, whether due to social restrictions, financial constraints, lease restrictions on pet ownership or for other reasons, not able to keep a pet, these cafes offer the opportunity to relax with a friendly kitty while consuming your coffee, without the long-term constraints of pet ownership.
One of the first cat coffee shops opened in London recently.
Friendly and sociable cats are kept in the cafe to keep visitors company.
Now it transpires that another such cafe has opened in Munich too.
This German cafe is called Katzentempel and there are four resident kitties.
The animals have special places to snooze in the shop, plus a range of toys too.
There are a series of rules to the running of this cafe though.
Vegetarian food only and it is served with a special cover to prevent cat hairs from getting into the food.
The kitchen is cut off from the main cafe and passed into the sitting area through a small hatch.
There are also special places for the cats their own sleeping places, litter tray and scratching posts.
If such a cafe was available near you, would you be interested in dropping by?
You can take a look at the cats in their gallery
