Swedish radiator coffee

There was a rather alarming story in the Swedish online press recently.
It seems that something has gone a little wrong at an air force base thanks to a mishap with some pipes.
The coffee that the employees have been drinking is a little worrisome as a result.
Want to hear more?
It has transpired that those who worked at the Blekinge air force base had been drinking water which was not intended for that purpose, but was rather intended for use in the central heating system.
How did this arise?
Apparently a couple of years ago, the water pipe was connected incorrectly so that the water intended for heating was, in fact, used for drinking.
The mistake was only just found out when the heating system was closed down.
Of course, now further investigations are under way.
Didn’t the employees notice that something was awry?
According to reports, some thought that coffee from the machine in question wasn’t so good.
However, as coffee is black in colour and the water intended for radiators is brownish, the difference wasn’t detectable by colour.
Some thought that as the coffee was not fresh, but from a vending machine, this accounted for the different flavour.
Could this affect the employees’ health?
It has been said that no illnesses have been reported although tests are under way.
It is possible that there are traces of some metals in the radiator water, so let’s hope that all is found to be well.
