The Apprentice inspired coffee entrepreneur

The Little Coffee Bag Company

The famous finger, pointed across the boardroom table is something of an iconic moment in reality TV.

Lord Sugar has an idiosyncratic way of firing potential apprentices.

However, it seems that the vibe behind the popular TV show   that anyone can build up a business with a bit of commercial savvy, a good product and determination   has inspired a certain Shropshire lass, who is now going great guns.

As reported in the Shropshire star, Carrie Bates has had something of a dream start to her new business.

What is it and what has happened?

The business is called The Little Coffee Bag Company and it was launched a year ago from an outbuilding at Bates’ residence.

Apparently, Bates was watching the TV show, which reminded her that, as a child, she believed she would do ‘something amazing.’

The product is an individually wrapped luxury coffee bag, which is made and supplied by the new business.

Carrie Bates thought about the idea before her husband went camping, thought through the idea that she could develop a sort of high-market coffee equivalent to the teabag.

And they are selling like hot cakes.

Apparently a deal has just been struck with the famous luxury store in London, Harvey Nichols and Harrods has also been said to have shown an interest in the product.

Bates put herself on the line, as she had no previous experience.

After being bowled over by her idea, she resigned from her job in a primary school and invested in the equipment, to make a go of her new venture.

It seems that she should thank her lucky stars that she trusted in her vision and dream.
