More good news for coffee drinkers

Every now and then, we update you on the latest medical findings about how coffee affects the human body.
As everyone knows, coffee is a global industry and a huge quantity of coffee is drunk daily by millions of people.
Much time has been invested into uncovering the effects of caffeine and coffee on the body.
And, as reported in the news of late, it seems that there are some benefits.
One of the latest stories to be reported on, in the Daily Mail, is the effect of coffee drinking on men.
It has been found in a research study that if a man drinks six cups of coffee on a daily basis, he could cut his chances of contracting prostate cancer by almost one fifth (almost 20%).
It seems that drinking coffee can be of use in warding off localised cancer.
However, the beverage is not thought to have such an effect on the aggressive form of the disease.
However, the matter is not free from debate.
It has been pointed out that some of the research projects contradict each other, or at least, do not completely tally.
A Dutch study argued that coffee does not make any difference to the chances of contracting this cancer (although tea helps), whereas an American study a couple of years ago, claimed that the odds of contracting the cancer could be cut by over 50%, by drinking six cups of coffee daily.
So what is the current conclusion?
There is a tentative suggestion that coffee might help those who might suffer from prostate cancer, but caution is recommended.
Let’s leave the scientists to carry out more work before we jump to conclusions.
