Robust-a Coffee Beans

Robusta coffee beans are on the up.
For the fourth consecutive day in London’s stock exchange, the biggest gain in almost two years.
After an initial drop in recent months, the key suppliers such as Vietnam, the main producing country of Robusta coffee beans opted to hold back some of last year’s crop.
Harvesting of Vietnam’s 2013-14 crops will start at about the end of the month, with the first shipment only possible in mid-November.
The leading specialists in the industry are tipping it to be a good year, Robusta prices are likely to “ease back” before a record crop in Vietnam.
It is thought that approximately 29 million bags of Robusta coffee will be exported in the 2013-14 season compared with a previous 900,000-bag shortage of the blend in 2012-13 leading to a whole market upheaval and some reshuffling.
So that’s good news for Robusta lovers and Vietnam coffee farmers.
Ensuring that the world has one of its favourite coffee blends available and the farmers have the cash in hand.
Fingers crossed for next year that the market sees and can benefit from some sort of balance.
With the growth in popularity of the more premium Arabica, it's interesting to see the market also increase for robusta. I guess it goes to show that a rising tide raises all ships. Dan Settle Cozzee - The New Socially Conscious Way to Drink Great Coffee | http://cozzee.org
