Afghanistan creatures benefit from coffee

The Brits are well-known for their love of animals, but Royal Marines Commando Sergeant Pen Farthing has used his passion for helping creatures to foreign climes.
What does he do?
He has inspired a charity called Nowzad Dogs.
This is no ordinary animal charity, however, as it helps stray and abandoned animals all the way over in Afghanistan.
Although the organisation references dogs, it helps other animals, such as donkeys and cats, too.
The Bexhill Observer has recently reported on an event which seeks to help this charity.
A coffee morning took place and has been described as a ‘great success.’

The event was supported by many visitors and in total, around £175 was raised on the day.
However, a local business also felt strongly about the cause and they kindly doubled the funds raised to £350.
As we all know, coffee mornings are rather time-honoured fundraising occasions.
The traditional elements were in place for this event, including a raffle.
However, there were also more modern attractions, such as face-painting.
Hopefully, the funds raised will go a long way to help those animals in need over in Afghanistan, as facilitated by the Nowzad charity.
